How We Rate

How the weights add up

The six criteria are weighted as follows: offer value 20 percent, payout speed 25 percent, game variety 15 percent, mobile experience 15 percent, support quality 15 percent and responsible-play tools 10 percent. A perfect score adds up to five stars; we never round upward, which is why nothing on this site has yet earned a flat five. The weights are the same for every operator we cover, so that scores can be compared across pages without squinting.

What drops a score

Scores drop automatically if a cashout we requested takes longer than the operator's own stated window, if live chat does not answer within one business hour on a weekday afternoon, if the mobile lobby produces a horizontal scrollbar on an iPhone-sized viewport, if deposit limits are missing from the account settings, or if a bonus clause we considered clearable turns out to carry a hidden max-bet cap during wagering. Each such issue removes between one quarter and a full point from the headline score.

When we refresh a review

Every review is refreshed at least every six months, and immediately when a reader reports a change we can confirm. Operators do not get an early heads-up on when a refresh is coming; the point of a methodology is that the result is the same whether the brand is paying attention or not. Each refresh is dated on the review page itself and we keep an archive of the previous version for reference.

The six criteria

Every operator on this site is judged against the same six criteria: offer value (is the welcome bonus actually clearable), payout speed (does a Visa or Skrill cashout really land in fifteen to thirty minutes), game variety (are the modes advertised actually available in US sessions), mobile experience (does the lobby work on a 390-pixel phone without horizontal scroll), support quality (does live chat answer in under an hour) and responsible-play tools (can you cap deposits inside the account). Each criterion gets a score from one to five.

How a score is set

An editor opens a fresh account on the operator, makes a real deposit via two methods, plays at least ten sessions across the available modes, requests at least one cashout, and files a support ticket on a weekday afternoon. The numbers they record go into the weights table above and the result is the headline score. Draft scores are reviewed by a second editor before publication; disagreements of more than half a star are resolved by a third opinion rather than a split-the-difference compromise.
