Affiliate cookies on the operator side
When you click a Play or Sign up button, we hand your browser over to Csgo Roll or to one of the related operators we review. The operator's own page will set its tracking cookie, with an identifier that says the click came from us. That cookie lives on the operator's domain, not on ours, and we never read it. It allows the operator to pay us a share of what you spend if you choose to become a customer. The identifier is a random string generated at the moment of the click; it is not derived from your email, your name or your IP address, and it does not survive if you clear the operator's cookies. If you do not want this behaviour, you can clear cookies for the operator after you register, or use a private window when you first click through — the sign-up will still work, but the affiliate link will not resolve to our account. We do not use any third-party retargeting pixel on csgo-roll.org itself, which means that opening a page here does not add you to any advertising audience; the only tracking tied to our site is the operator-side cookie dropped if and only if you choose to click through.
How long each cookie stays and how to turn them off
The theme cookie stays for one year, the consent cookie stays for six months, and the affiliate click cookie stays for thirty days. You can clear all of them at any time through the Clear browsing data menu in your browser; on most browsers that menu lives under Settings, then Privacy. If you prefer to block cookies up front, Firefox, Safari and Brave all offer strict-tracking modes that block third-party cookies by default and will not stop you from using csgo-roll.org. Removing a cookie set by Csgo Roll or another operator does not affect your account there — only the ad-tracking they do on top of it. We also honour the Global Privacy Control header: if your browser sends it, we treat you as if you had opted out of every optional cookie, without needing to touch the banner. If you want to see which cookies our site has placed in your browser right now, open the developer tools (F12 on most desktop browsers), switch to the Application tab and expand the Cookies section for csgo-roll.org — the list is short and every entry carries a plain-English name we have chosen on purpose. We review the cookie set at least once per quarter and remove any entry we no longer actively use, so that the browser footprint of a reader who merely visits the site stays as light as possible.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a tiny text file that a website asks your browser to remember when you first open a page. On the next visit, your browser sends that file back and the site uses it to recognise you — for example to keep you logged in, to remember your preferred language, or to count you as a returning reader rather than a brand new one. Cookies are specific to the domain that set them, which means a cookie from csgo-roll.org can only be read by csgo-roll.org, not by any other website you visit. Browsers also store a close cousin of cookies called local storage, which works the same way for our purposes and is covered by this policy. We do not use fingerprinting or any technique that identifies a device without consent.
Which cookies we actually set
csgo-roll.org sets a small number of first-party cookies, each of them optional and clearly named. The cookie called pref-theme stores whether you prefer the dark or light layout; the one called consent-v1 remembers which categories of cookies you have allowed, so that we do not show the consent banner on every page; and a short-lived cookie called ref-click records which affiliate link you last clicked, so that we can measure which comparison tables bring value. None of these cookies carry your name, your email or your real IP address. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell data, and the number of trackers on any page is zero outside of what you have explicitly agreed to.
